Am I being a bit melodramatic? …Yes, but seriously, the instant I saw this set on the Stampin’ Up! new catalog sneak peek, I knew it would be the first set on my list! I wanted to use a new color with it, Bermuda Bay. While Bermuda Bay isn’t entirely new, it is new to me. You see, back when in-colors were only around for a year, I couldn’t justify the expense of new paper, inks and such, if they were only available 12 months. So I never got to use Bermuda Bay. I love it paired with Real Red. It feels fresh and Summery. I should point out that I used a Coastal Cabana print with Bermuda Bay CS. Many of the Stampin’ Up! colors are designed to have this sort of flexibility. They are designed to be able to use a different shade (shade isn’t technically the correct work to use here but I don’t want to get into a whole thing on hue, shade, tint, and tone. I add this disclaimer for any of you artists out there who cringed at my use of shade for this purpose) and still look great together. I LOVE this. This gives me greater flexibility and stretches my supplies! I also LOVE core’dinations cardstock and had a ton of it on my first order. Here I used crumb cake, because it looks like my coffee (I like a bit of coffee with my cream and sugar). For the main image I used water-color paper and an aquapainter. I used my paper snips to cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals. This was such a fun card to make, I can’t wait to make another one using this set! Squeeee!
