Do you remember the first time you stamped? How about the first card you created?
Was it at a Stampin’ Up! workshop, or card class?
I don’t remember either of those events, but I do remember what kept me wanting to stamp.
It was the fact that I had created something that I was proud to give.
I have a group of brand new stampers that I will be stamping with this week.
I think they are all new to Stampin’ Up!
I wanted to come up with a simple card but it was nice enough to use.
The day I sat down to make these projects, a happy accident occurred.
I am pretty bad about cleaning my stamps before I put them away. Usually I have a stack of empty stamp containers and a bowl full of stamps I have used during my marathon card making session.
I end up putting them back in their containers, but some of them don’t always get cleaned.
I knew I wanted to use pink on one of the cards and soft suede as my neutral. I still needed to come up with a second color to serve as a more masculine color.
I pulled out Pretty in Pink and began to ink up and then stamp.
It seems there was some Summer Starfruit on my stamp from the last time I stamped.
I loved the combination of color.
Now, I had to recreated it, so new stampers could get the same effect.
The solution was simple…. ink up in Summer Starfruit, stamp off, re-ink in Pretty in Pink, and stamp your image.
While this might not give you a wow moment, I think back to my reaction as a new stamper, and I would have loved it!
I created several cards using the same stamped image just stepped up a notch or two.
Over the next few days I will share those with you.
